Belgravia’s terraces are protected, and the water table is high. A pool needs a plan that respects both.
What a Belgravia pool has to respect.

- July 2021
- Basements flooded in parts of the area.

- White stucco terraces, squares and mews.
NU Projects is a design and build company in Fulham SW6, founded in 2010. We handle basement swimming pools in Belgravia SW1, under one contract. A basement runs £450 to £780 a sq ft, construction only. Call 020 7731 6841, and a budget estimate typically follows within seven days.
Belgravia is white stucco terraces, grand squares and small mews. The houses are tall, with rooms in a set order. A pool hall must be placed below without upsetting that order. Often the answer is a lower floor that already exists, made deeper.
City Plan Policy 50 allows one storey below the lowest original floor. The Belgravia Neighbourhood Plan favours upward additions and discourages basements in mews. A pool is far likelier under a terrace house than under a mews.
Ground water matters most. The plan notes a high water table in parts, and flooding in July 2021. A pool tank is a heavy box in wet ground. We design it for uplift, with sumps and a back up pump.
We have no Belgravia pool to show. Next door in Knightsbridge, we built a townhouse with a pool and wine room. Our Fulham basements were dug, waterproofed and finished by the same team.
