What a Weybridge pool has to solve.
- Zones 2 and 3a
- A pool may be considered, bedrooms may not
- Zone 3b
- No basements at all, pools included
- Private estates
- Pools need the residents’ association’s approval
NU Projects is a design and build company in Fulham SW6, founded in 2010. We handle basement swimming pools in Weybridge KT13, under one contract. A basement runs £450 to £780 a sq ft, construction only. Call 020 7731 6841, and a budget estimate typically follows within seven days.
Large gardens here often hold a pool house. A basement hall keeps the water indoors and the lawn clear. It also stays warm and private in every season.
Elmbridge has no basement policy to cap a pool’s size or depth. Outside the Green Belt, the room is judged as an extension. In the Green Belt, it must be wholly underground and inside the footprint. The Flood Risk SPD allows pools in Zones 2 and 3a, not 3b.
Water is the real design question near two rivers. An empty tank can float in high groundwater. The structure is designed for that case. The plant room needs its own sump and drain.
Our nearest pool is in Kensington, in new houses we built. It sits two floors below the street. We also refurbished a Knightsbridge townhouse with a marble lined pool. One team designs, prices and builds the hall.

Further reading, from the journal
Can a Weybridge basement swimming pool be built in a flood zone?
In Zones 2 and 3a a pool may be considered.
In Zone 3b the Flood Risk SPD allows no basements.
A site check on the flood map comes first.
Could a Weybridge basement swimming pool float in wet ground?
An empty tank can lift where groundwater is high.
We design the structure and a drained base for that case.
A hydrology report is required where groundwater is a risk.
Does a Weybridge basement swimming pool count toward Green Belt limits?
Only if it breaks the DM18 test.
A pool hall wholly underground and inside the footprint is permitted.
Anything else counts toward the 25% cap.
Do pool plans on a private Weybridge estate need the estate’s approval?
Yes. Its residents’ association must approve a pool.
Its guidelines also set limits on basements and lightwells.
