How the house is held up, drawn before it is built.
Structural engineers give a design its calculations, on the same programme as the drawings. We are NU Projects, design and build in Fulham SW6 since 2010. We coordinate the engineer for you, as part of the design. Engineering fees are priced per project, from the actual scope. The architectural drawings show what a design achieves. Structural drawings show how it is held up. That means the steel and timber carrying the load.
The engineer assesses the property first. Sometimes a wall, ceiling or small dig is opened up, for an accurate reading. That data goes into the calculations for your extension, basement or loft.
The finished drawings are needed for building control, party wall matters and tendering. We bring the engineer in early. Openings and floor depths are tested before the design is fixed.
