NU Projects is a design and build company in Fulham SW6, founded in 2010. We handle basement gyms and spa rooms in Highgate N6, under one contract. A new basement dig typically runs £500k to £900k. Many Highgate houses sit on falling ground. At the back, the lower floor can open to the garden at grade. A gym there gets daylight and air without a deep light well.
Where a light well is needed at the front, Haringey limits it. Under DM18 it may take no more than half the front garden. On the Camden side, damage next door is capped at Burland category 1.
A gym floor takes dropped weights and running feet. We float it on an isolating layer. A sauna or steam room beside it needs its own drain and extract. Each is drawn into the structure from the start.
Our nearest house is in N2, a short way north, refitted by NU. In Chelsea we built a lower floor gym between lit pilasters. One team designs, prices and builds the room.
