i The brief

Rework the whole plan. Keep the programme tight.

The owner wanted a full reconfiguration of a substantial house.

Every floor was to be finished to a high specification.

Precision, discretion and tight programme control were the priorities.

ii The work

Structure first. Then the interiors. Then the joinery.

Structural works came first, to reconfigure the plan.

Interior architecture and a full design package followed.

The joinery was made by Cochrane Bespoke.

One point of accountability ran from design to handover.

The work took about 54 weeks on site, finishing in 2017.

One team, one contract, and one person to call on every floor.

Glass, timber and stone, room by room.

The ground floor opens onto a planted terrace.
