In Earl’s Court, a gym usually goes into an existing lower ground floor. We make that floor work harder.

NU Projects is a design and build company in Fulham SW6, founded in 2010. We handle basement gyms and spa rooms in Earl’s Court SW5, under one contract. A new basement dig typically runs £500k to £900k. Converting an existing basement runs £180k to £300k. Call 020 7731 6841, and a budget estimate typically follows within seven days.
Most Earl’s Court houses are flats, the lowest often a lower ground flat. That floor can hold a gym without a new dig. Lowering it a little can add the height a rack wants.
Policy HO1 does not let homes be merged. So the gym stays within the flat itself. It cannot borrow a room from the flat above. Where a whole house can dig, CD11 allows one storey.
A gym needs cool, fresh air. A condenser outside is judged under Policy CD10, for look and siting. In Philbeach, an Article 4 direction controls even painting a front. We keep plant to the rear, out of view.
In Chelsea, close by, we built a basement gym between mirrored panels. In Fulham we refurbished a house in full. One team designs, prices and builds your gym.

Can an Earl’s Court lower ground flat hold a gym?
Often, yes, within the flat itself.
Lowering the floor can add the height a rack needs.
Can my Earl’s Court gym take a room from the flat above?
Not usually. Policy HO1 does not allow homes to be merged.
The gym has to fit within your own flat.
Where does gym cooling go on an Earl’s Court house?
Indoors where possible, or to the rear, out of view.
Outdoor units are judged under CD10.
Does the Philbeach Article 4 direction affect a basement gym?
It controls changes to the front, even paint.
We keep the gym’s works and plant away from it.
