NU Projects is a design and build company in Fulham SW6, founded in 2010. We handle interior design and fit-out in Notting Hill W11, under one contract. The calculator gives your own range in a minute, by scope and finish. Call 020 7731 6841, and a budget estimate typically follows within seven days.

A Notting Hill house is tall and slim. Most run four floors above a lower ground floor. The stair is the spine, and every room hangs off it.

So we plan vertically. The kitchen and family room usually take the lower ground, by the garden. Formal rooms sit on the raised ground and first floors. Bedrooms climb above.

Many terraces back onto communal gardens. A kitchen looking onto one borrows a view no private plot could give. We draw glazing and shelving to frame it.

Plenty of these houses were split into flats long ago. Policy HO1 stops separate homes being merged back into one. So a flat stays a flat, and we design it as one.

Our nearest interiors are in Kensington W8 and Chelsea SW3, a short drive south.

How do you lay out a narrow four floor Notting Hill house?

Everyday living tends to go low, beside the garden.

Bedrooms and bathrooms stack above, so the plumbing runs straight.

Can two Notting Hill flats be joined into one home?

Usually not. Policy HO1 does not allow self-contained homes to be merged.

We make the flat you own work harder instead.

Does a Norland house in Notting Hill carry extra controls?

Yes. Article 4 directions have applied in Norland since July 2013.

Its Neighbourhood Plan also still guides decisions there.

Inside an unlisted house, most interior work needs no planning.

Can a Notting Hill kitchen open onto the communal garden?

Often the lower ground floor already meets it.

Any change to the rear wall goes to the borough first.
