i The brief
A complete transformation, not a refresh.
The owner asked for a complete transformation of the apartment.
A lateral apartment runs across one floor.
Here the interior was stripped back first.
Then every room was rebuilt, from the drawings up.
One team drew it, priced it and built it.
Everything came out. Then every room was drawn again, and built again.
ii The detail
Classic London, made by hand.
Panelled walls, plaster mouldings and bespoke lighting set the tone.
The mouldings are specialist plasterwork.
The panelling and the cabinets are joinery by Cochrane Bespoke.
Architectural drawings, interior design and the fit-out sat in the same contract.
The work took about 40 weeks on site, finishing in 2019.
