NU Projects is an interior design studio working on prime residences in South Kensington. We take heritage and contemporary properties and turn them into family homes and apartments that are comfortable to live in and straightforward to run.
South Kensington is built of period townhouses and mansion blocks, so most of our work here starts with a building that has been altered before. Our interior designers draw the scheme around the light, the colour, the fabric and the period features that are worth keeping, and around the ones that are not.
At the first meeting we set out what the house has to do and how you want to live in it. That becomes the concept design. Our South Kensington work includes apartments with views across Hyde Park and family houses with private gardens.
Period and listed properties need a particular kind of care. The job is to gain space and daylight without stripping the character out of the building. Our schemes here combine restored original features with warm colour palettes, specialist wallpapers, fabric trims and home technology that stays out of sight.
