NU Projects is a design and build company in Fulham SW6, founded in 2010. We handle basement conversion and construction in Oxshott KT22, under one contract. A basement runs £450 to £780 a sq ft, construction only. Call 020 7731 6841, and a budget estimate typically follows within seven days.

Oxshott is large detached houses set back in wooded plots. Part of it is the Birds Hill estate, long called the Crown Estate. A basement adds floor area without raising the roofline.

Elmbridge has no basement policy, SPD or impact assessment, and no depth limit. Outside the Green Belt, a basement is judged as an extension. Inside it, DM18 wants the room wholly underground and within the footprint. Design, neighbours, trees and drainage decide the rest.

Mature trees set the line of the dig, so root zones come first. Most Oxshott land is high ground, but the Mole and Rythe touch parts. Where groundwater is a risk, a hydrology report is needed. We check each plot against the flood maps before design starts.

We have not yet finished a project in Surrey. Our nearest new basement is a dig with a kitchen extension in Chelsea SW3. One team designs, prices and builds an Oxshott basement the same way.

Does Oxshott have a basement planning policy?

No. Elmbridge has no basement policy and no basement SPD.

Green Belt sites follow DM18, and flood zones follow the Flood Risk SPD.

We read both against your plot first.

Do the Crown Estate byelaws in Oxshott cover a basement?

The Birds Hill estate company’s 2015 byelaws name basement extensions.

They set a deposit, working hours and a completion period.

We confirm the current terms and any consent step for your plot.

Can an Oxshott basement reach beyond the house footprint?

Outside the Green Belt, Elmbridge sets no depth or garden limit.

Inside it, the room must stay within the existing footprint.

We confirm which applies before we draw.

Is flooding a worry for an Oxshott basement?

Most Oxshott land is high ground.

Parts near the Mole and Rythe sit in higher flood zones.

We check each plot against the Environment Agency map first.
