NU Projects is a design and build company in Fulham SW6, founded in 2010. We handle mechanical, electrical and plumbing in Chelsea SW3, under one contract. MEP is priced from the drawings, after a survey of what is there. Call 020 7731 6841, and a budget estimate typically follows within seven days.
Chelsea terraces are Victorian and Georgian, often four storeys and sometimes five. Bathrooms stack up the house. Hot water must reach the top one quickly, while others run.
We calculate that simultaneous demand rather than guess it. It decides the cylinder, the pump and the pipe sizes. A secondary return keeps hot water close to every tap.
Cooling is the harder question here. Outdoor condensers are judged under Policy CD10, for look and siting. We find a discreet position before the indoor units are chosen.
Our Chelsea work includes a green media room and a mirrored basement gym. Both rooms need heat taken out, not just air moved.
Most of Chelsea is conservation area. Flues, vents and grilles seen from the street are planned with that in mind.

Can I fit air conditioning in a Chelsea townhouse?
Yes, but the outdoor unit is the planning question.
Kensington and Chelsea judges it under Policy CD10, for look and siting.
We draw a discreet position before choosing equipment.
Why does hot water run cold on the top floor of a Chelsea house?
Usually the pipe run is long and has no return loop.
A secondary return circuit keeps hot water moving to the upper bathrooms.
Do Chelsea conservation areas affect where flues and vents go?
They can. Most of Chelsea is conservation area.
Anything visible from the street is placed with care, or kept to the rear.
Does a listed Chelsea house limit new wiring and pipework?
Yes. Policy CD5 asks for original interior features to be kept.
Listed building consent covers works that affect the house’s character.
We route through later fabric where we can.
