Getting a scheme from a drawing to a finished building takes a contractor. It takes one who can read the drawing. That is what we do.
NU Projects builds basements, extensions and whole-house transformations in London. Working with us has a benefit. The person pricing your detail understands why it is drawn that way. They will tell you early where it will be difficult to build. You will not hear it at the first valuation.
Why NU Projects
We are builders. We have architects, interior designers and a quantity surveyor in the same office. Our MEP director is there too. Here is what that gets an architect:
- Listed buildings and basements. We work on listed and conservation-area properties regularly. The constraints are known rather than discovered. Basements and extensions are most of what we do.
- Materials and trades. This runs from bespoke carpentry to stone, kitchens, lighting, audio visual and air conditioning. We work with London trades and suppliers we use repeatedly. We do not tender each package to the lowest bidder.
- A collaborative approach. We integrate our design and build teams from the start. There is thorough planning and regular reporting. A shop drawing sign-off process protects your detail.
The process
We follow a 12-stage design and build process. It runs from the first consultation and survey. It goes through planning approvals and project management to handover. It is adapted to each project rather than applied to it.
