To London architects,
If you are looking for a main contractor to build a scheme you have drawn, this is what we do and how we work.
NU Projects builds residential, commercial and cultural work in London. We have our own architects, interior designers, quantity surveyor and MEP team, which is unusual in a contractor and useful to an architect, because it means somebody here can read your drawings properly and tell you early where they will be difficult to build.
Our Knightsbridge townhouse is a reasonable example of the standard. You can see it in the project portfolio.
Working with us, here is what you get.
- Buildability input early. We would rather raise a problem at RIBA stage 3 than price it as a variation at stage 5.
- A programme with the dependencies in it. Design decisions, approvals, party wall matters, long lead procurement and commissioning, not just a site duration.
- Written change control. Every change described, priced and approved before it is built, which protects your design intent as much as our margin.
- Coordination we own. Structure, MEP, joinery and finishes coordinated here rather than left between trades on site.
- One point of contact. You deal with the people making the decisions.
We are happy to price a scheme, to come in as a two-stage contractor during design, or to take on design and build where that suits the client.
See completed work in the portfolio, or send us a scheme to look at.
Yours sincerely,
Nick Jeffries
