What is the design and build process?

It is a twelve-stage process, and each stage has an output and a decision point. It exists so that a client can see where a project is at any moment.

The process begins with an initial consultation, where we meet with the client to discuss their needs and vision for the project. We then move on to the design phase, where we work with the client to develop a detailed plan for the project, including drawings and specifications.

Once the design is settled, the construction phase starts. That covers everything from site preparation to the final details, carried out by our own trades and the specialists we work with regularly.

Throughout the construction process, we provide regular updates to the client to keep them informed of progress and any changes that may be necessary. We also have a project manager to oversee the work and ensure that everything is completed on time and within budget.

Once construction is complete, the final stages are the inspections, the snagging list, and any repairs or touching up that come out of it. We also help with the furniture and décor selection, so the rooms are finished rather than just built.

The point of running the design and the build together is that there is one team accountable for both, so the drawing and the building do not diverge. The full sequence is set out on our 12-stage process page.
