Palazzo Morelli makes handcrafted hard surfaces for residential and commercial interiors. The work covers flooring, wall panelling, doors and partitions. Materials are sustainably sourced and the pieces are made by hand in Italy.
The point of that approach is decoration that is cut and laid rather than printed. Inlay, marquetry and stone jointing were ordinary in Baroque, Renaissance and classical interiors. They are unusual in a new London house, and they are one of the few finishes a visitor notices without being told to.
The company works from Dubai and Italy, with offices in Singapore and Todi, and holds a catalogue of more than a thousand designs. Each scheme is drawn for the room it goes into, so no two floors come out the same.
In 2019 Palazzo Morelli set out to establish a base in the United Kingdom, and approached NU Projects. The two firms began working together from the NU studio in Fulham. For NU that widened the range of finishes we could put in front of a client. For Palazzo Morelli it gave the products a London home.
