Why the division exists
NU MEP is the mechanical and electrical division of NU Projects, established to bring a higher standard of M&E delivery to London’s construction market. We are not a general contractor who also handles M&E. This is what we do, and we do it properly.
The construction industry has always had an M&E problem. Too many packages are handed to the lowest bidder, managed at arm’s length, and only given serious attention when something has already gone wrong. NU MEP exists to change that.
Who we are and what we do
NU MEP designs, installs and commissions mechanical and electrical services. That covers heating, cooling, ventilation, hot water, drainage, power, lighting, controls, data and fire safety systems. The engineers are Gas Safe registered and NICEIC qualified.
The division works on NU Projects residential jobs and as a subcontractor to other main contractors and developers. The MEP page sets out the full scope.
The NU MEP standard
The NU standard is built on four principles: technical leadership, programme control, quality delivery, and clear accountability. These are not values on a wall, they are the practical requirements of any serious M&E operation.
Technical leadership means every package is managed by someone who understands it. Programme control means we coordinate with the full build programme, not just our own scope. Quality delivery means we hold ourselves to the same standard as the clients and contractors we work with. And clear accountability means there is always a named person responsible for every aspect of what we deliver.
These principles apply on every project, regardless of size or scope.
