A Victorian terrace in Knightsbridge has been renovated by NU Projects, with joinery by Cochrane Bespoke. This post sets out how the house was brought up to date without losing what made it worth buying.
The project began with a clear vision: to merge historical elegance with contemporary aesthetics. The interior design was carefully planned to enhance the property’s classic features while introducing modern elements that speak to both form and function. High ceilings and large windows were key in maximising natural light, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere.
The design team selected materials that sit with the original fabric and stand up to daily use. Bespoke joinery by Cochrane Bespoke and furniture drawn for the rooms carried most of the character.
Home automation was integrated into the fabric rather than added afterwards. The result keeps the character of the house and the comfort of a modern one.
