Welcome back to our West London renovation series. This week there is real progress to show.
Strip out completed. The strip out phase is finished. We took the old plaster off the walls as well, which revealed the original 200 year old brickwork. The bricks are in poor condition, but they are a fascinating glimpse into the history of the building.
Awaiting the engineers’ report. We are waiting on the engineers’ report before the chimneys come out. The report decides whether they can go, and how, so nothing moves until it arrives.
Joist replacement. The old joists are being replaced with Posi-Joists. They give a stiffer floor, and the services run through the web rather than through notches cut in a timber.
