NU Projects was the design and build contractor on the renovation of a Victorian terrace in Old Town Clapham. The brief was to turn a dark, compact house into a bright modern one. The design process involved a thorough initial feasibility study that emphasised fluidity and multi-functional use of space to cater to the client’s lifestyle, which included both entertaining and personal retreats.
Our architectural and interior design teams worked with the client to set the scheme against their preference for something minimal and modern. Regular meetings on site meant the design developed alongside what was actually being built, which is how a drawing stops being a drawing. The central staircase was designed by the project architect and then made on site by our own tradespeople, which is why it fits the opening exactly.
