Tired of the same wall, the same worktop and the same sofa? Thinking about a renovation? Here are five tips from NU Projects for a fresh start in 2020.
1. Colours
Pastel colours such as dusty pink or neo mint will still be in favour in 2020. Soft, calming colours l ike pale blue, muted green and neutral colours will be upcoming. Do not be afraid of warm neutral colours. Champagne tones will give a classic, elegant edge to your home. If you are looking for more bold and confident colours try Cobalt Blue, Aubergine or Kelly green. To make your interior cosier, use warmer tones like Grounded Red, and don’t forget to add a metallic edge with decor items.
2. Forms
Art Deco will have a comeback in 2020 in the shape of furniture. Curved edges and dreamy colour such as pale pink or light grey will be in, besides, richer shades like emerald, teal, rust or black will also be trendy.
3. Materials
Natural materials will be in. Glass, wood and stone, especially marble can make your home effortlessly stylish. Whether it is a coffee table, a kitchen worktop, a vase in the hallway or a whole wall, it will carry the room. Additionally, investing in a piece of marble can add value to your home.
4. Fabrics
In 2020, richly textured fabric will be popular. Leather, velvet or suede, each will add an elegant edge to your home. The easiest way to add new style to your home is to buy a new rug or a blanket. Make your home fresh and also cosy.
5. Styles
The eclectic interior style will come back next year. Retro colours and pieces were one of the big trends of 2019, and you do not have to give them up. Eclectic design mixes new and old, and lives on contrast. It is also the chance to leave fast furniture behind, and hunt for something second hand instead.
