Adding value to a London house is not only about how it looks. It is about the improvements that make it work better, which are usually the ones that add usable floor area or fix how the plan flows. Design and build is a way of getting both decided at once.
What professional design does
Our interior designers and architectural designers work on layout first and finish second. Materials and joinery are then scheduled with the drawings, so a corner of the house is not left to be worked out on site.
Adding floor area
The most reliable way to increase what a house is worth is to make it bigger. A basement or an extension adds living space and, done properly, improves how the rest of the plan works. The difficult part is the junction between the new and the old, which is where the design has to be right.
Basements in West London
A basement conversion adds a whole floor without touching the footprint. A cinema room, a gym or another living suite, with the layout drawn around how much daylight can be brought down into it.
Extensions in West London
An extension adds space and value at the same time. A garden room or a wider kitchen, drawn for the house it is attached to rather than to a standard detail.
How we work
We manage the job from the first design through to the final touches, on one contract with one project manager. Published rates for this kind of work are on our cost calculator.
