The 12 stage process from day one to hand-over

STAGE TWO Free Consultation On the consultation call with our founder Nick Jeffries, he will be happy to discuss the aims, requirements, desired finishes, realistic budgets, timescales, possibilities of your project and our 12-stage process in more detail.
STAGE THREE Budget Estimate If your happy to proceed we charge £100 call-out fee to arrange a site visit, we can then gather all the information needed to produce a budget build cost with design fee's. If you approve the provisional numbers, we can then go to the contract.
STAGE FOUR 3D Measured Survey The architect will visit your property and survey all the required measurements for us to complete accurate drawings of the proposed development. This takes around 60 mins depending on the size of the project.
STAGE FIVE Proposed Design The RIBA approved architect will then produce schematic drawings for your approval and discuss any changes that you would like to make before the submission for planning.
STAGE SIX Planning Permission We will submit the planning application on your behalf and negotiate with the local planning office to get the best result. Planning permission usually takes around two months. NU will also bring in specialist planning consultants if the property is listed or challenging.
STAGE SEVEN Building Regulation Once the construction drawings are passed by building control, you will be ready for build. We use local authorities or private building control companies in some cases. Work is also started on the interior design, scope of works & cost plan.
STAGE EIGHT Structural Calculations One of our fully qualified structural engineers partners will produce structural drawings. This is an important part of the design, it will present a clear scope of how to achieve the construction of the project. STAGE NINE Party Wall Agreements Generally any structural alterations within 3 meters of a party wall will require a party wall agreement and notices. Sometimes this process takes time, it all depends on the neighbours response times.
STAGE TEN Project Management To take the uncertainty and risk away from your project. We highly recommend instructing NU to project manage the construction process & take on responsibility for the health and safety CDM 2015.
STAGE ELEVEN Construction We build your loft conversion, home extension, basement, renovation or new build. With our team of builders, carpenters and trades we deliver high quality construction services. We also work with specialist sub contractors.
